If you haven’t listened to our podcast lately, you’ll have missed us hyping an exciting event coming up at Millikin University – an exhibition of authentic concert posters from the Haight Ashbury scene from the 1960s! Art Professor Ed Walker was the driving force behind bringing this exhibition to Decatur, and it has been a labor of love for him and his students over the past year. There will be over 400 original posters on display as well as an exhibition on 1960s culture. This event is a must-see for anyone living in or around Decatur! Lots of hard work from Millikin’s Art Department went into this, and we hope to see many of you at the Kirkland Fine Arts Center this Thursday January 26 from 5-7pm! And a reminder – everything on exhibition will also be for sale! Woot! Listen below to an interview we did with Professor Walker about the show, and follow the link (or click here) to check out a great article in Decatur’s Thrive Magazine for more background info on how the show came together.
